Monopoly Market aka Monopoly was a innovate marketplace launched in late 2019 by the administrator who goes by the alias "Monopolyofficial". It implemented an “invitation only” policy for vendors. It was wallet-free (no built-in wallet required to transfer a payment), userless (no need to create an account), and only accepted Monero (XMR) as a payment currency. Everything went wrong on December 28, 2021 If you attempted to visit Monopoly, you’ll see the "X'F0' Onion Service Descriptor Can Not be Found." Monopolyofficial came out in defense of his market later citing that it has been seized by LE or it's host has sent LE information about it's servers. Users of Dread then started to post that German markets never seem to last. Hinting at the fact Monopolyofficial is from Germany. No arrests or press release from law enforcement has been published.

At the time when this was written everything was unconfirmed, on June 23 The U.S. Department of Justice an indictment charging Serbian national, Milomir Desnica (33), who allegedly ran the criminal darknet marketplace. Law enforcement claims this seizure lead to 288 arrests which include vendors and users.
