Markets: Pandora Market

From Darkipedia

Pandora Market was founded on October 21 of 2013 by “Alice” and was later seized by law enforcement on August 19, 2014, as part of their “Operation Onymous”, along with Silk Road 2.0 and other marketplaces. Pandora was one of the very first darknet marketplaces that integrated an alternative cryptocurrency to Bitcoin, Litecoin. During March, 2014, the marketplace was hacked and approximately 425 Bitcoins were stolen, valued at roughly $250,000 USD at the time. Alice later made a forum post stating that they did not announce the hack immediately to prevent user panic, restored %30 of stolen funds by using their own profits, and were imposing very high commission rates on every transaction made through the site up to %24 to fully restore funds. While law enforcement confirmed that they seized Pandora, there is no other information about its takedown or the fate of its administrator. It is possible that Alice could have been arrested, much like Dread Pirate Roberts 2 (SR 2.0 Admin), whose arrest was not made public until many years later, or Alice evaded law enforcement identification/capture and only their market was seized.
