FloMarket was launched in early December of 2013 and later featured a notice stating the market had shut down on January 6 of the following year, 10 days after a vendor reportedly used an exploit to steal all funds from the marketplace. A Reddit user going by the alias “Gabralkhan” who was known for extensively investigating hacks surrounding dark-net marketplaces conducted an interview that was posted on DeepDotWeb with the markets’ administrator, “Flole”, in which the administrator said he was a 15 year old pupil living in the EU who enjoys software development and has never done drugs, smoked cigarettes, or drank alcohol, and wanted to start a dark-net market after reading that Backopy, the owner of Black Market Reloaded, made $440,000 per day. He also stated that development of the market had started in October when the Silk Road shut down and planned to launch the market the first of January of 2014, but decided to do so when Black Market Reloaded shut down. When asked if there were moments that he considers milestones for FloMarket, Flole said “the 1000 user mark, reached on 6. December 2013. According to Flole, the hacker stole about 5 Bitcoins.
