Markets: CannaZon

From Darkipedia

Cannazon was launched sometime during early 2018 and shut down on November 28 of 2021. The market was intended only for Cannabis and related products, hence its’ name, and strictly forbade anything else from being sold or advertised on it. The markets’ categories section only listed “featured”, “promoted”, “weed”, “hash”, “concentrates”, “edibles” and “seeds”. While it allowed users from anywhere in the world to join, excluding the United States, it primarily catered to European users. Aside from that, its’ functionality and features were very similar to other dark-net markets as it used Bitcoin and Monero for transactions and supported 2-Factor-authentication, escrow, and Multi-Signature transactions.

Starting in early November of 2021, Cannazon experienced a heavy DDoS attack which prompted the administrators to limit the number of orders and took the site offline for some time. This caused panic among the community as there were growing fears of an impending exit-scam. However, the administrators announced their retirement in a PGP signed-message that stated they were not trying to defraud their merchants, and apologized for their lack of transparency in handling the issue. On November 23, they claimed that all vendors were able to withdraw their funds and stated that the market would be accessible until the 28.

Despite claims by certain news outlets, CannaHome and CGMC were not competitors of Cannazon as those two markets only allowed users from the United States and they were not strictly cannabis-only markets.
