Defunct: Lovelace

From Darkipedia

Lovelace was the founder of World Market and was said to be a former administrator for Royal Market and Nightmare by several of its’ former staff members, all three of which stole their users’ funds before shutting down in what is known as exit-scamming. Not too long after World Market was founded, Lovelace sponsored a few writing competitions with prize pools ranging in the tens of thousands of dollars on the Dread forum, which lead to many users becoming suspicious that they were the owners of Icarus and other markets that had recently exit-scammed during the time. After the World Market sub-Dread was banned by administrators, Dread experienced a series of heavy DDoS attacks, which took the forum down for days at a time. HugBunter, the owner of he Dread forum, made a statement claiming that the World Market staff were behind the attacks.

A user on the Dread forum, “nightmaremarket”, posted a signed message using a PGP key linked to Nightmare Market stating that he had been working with Lovelace for quite some time and decided to tell the truth after Lovelace refused to pay him for the work he did. He said the exit scam money from Nightmare Market was used to launch World Market, which is why it had advertisements everywhere from the start, and that most start ups don’t have this kind of funding and don’t grow this quickly. He further went on to tell the admins of the ASAP, Bohemia, Archetyp, and AlphaBay markets that World Market was behind the DDoS attacks on their markets.

Dread staff and administrators of several dark-net marketplaces basically stated that they were already aware of this.
