Defunct: Dr D's

From Darkipedia

Dr. D’s Multilingual Market, originally known as Mr Nice Guy Market, was an invite-only marketplace that was launched no later than mid-March of 2015 and appears to have shut down in either late 2016 or early 2017. The marketplace was somewhat comparable to an individual vendor shop, where Dr. D would sell a variety of drugs that he supposedly manufactured himself while allowing other vendors to sell their wares and services on his market. The market, however, had no affiliation with the original Mr Nice Guy marketplace, and during the final months of Dr. D’s market, the head administrator, “Dr. D”, said the markets’ ownership was transferred to him and that he was not the original owner (the first Dr. D).

The marketplace used Bitcoin and offered both traditional and Multi-Signature escrow. Drugs, weapons, and items related to fraud and identity theft were most commonly sold on the market.

During the sites’ earlier days, Mr. Nice Guy was widely accused of attempting to conduct DDoS attacks on competing marketplaces, and plotting to scam users, both of which he later admitted to in an interview with DeepDotWeb where he claimed that other markets were launching attacks on his, and it was necessary to do the same to them. A Reddit user made a post that gained much traction which, according to the user, provided doxxed information about Mr. Nice Guy, and claimed that he was 17 years old. Mr. Nice Guy repeatedly denied that he was the person described in the Reddit post.

Fears of an exit-scam were widespread by the markets’ users during possibly most of its’ existence due to it having excessive and unannounced downtime that would last for up to several weeks at a time. Its’ excessive downtime drove most of its’ users away. It is unknown as to what the cause of the downtime actually was, or as to when the site permanently went offline.
