Markets: Genesis Market
From Darkipedia
Genesis Market was a cybercrime marketplace founded in 2017, notorious for selling stolen browser fingerprints — cookies, session tokens and saved credentials — that allowed buyers to hijack victims' digital lives while bypassing security checks. It offered access to over two million victim identities, covering bank accounts and online services.
On 4-5 April 2023, the FBI and law enforcement from 17 countries seized the market's infrastructure in Operation Cookie Monster, resulting in around 119 arrests, 208 property searches and 97 "knock-and-talk" measures worldwide. The operation was coordinated alongside the DOJ, Europol and Eurojust.
