Timeline:Incognito
Incognito Market was a darknet narcotics marketplace that formed in October 2020 and operated until March 2024. It grew into one of the largest illegal narcotics marketplaces on the dark web, selling more than $100 million in narcotics — including hundreds of kilograms of cocaine and methamphetamine — and, per the US Department of Justice, processing over 640,000 drug transactions across a customer base of more than 400,000 buyers and 1,800 vendors.
Shutdown and Arrest
Incognito Market went offline in March 2024, with a law enforcement seizure confirmed shortly afterwards.
On 6 May 2024, the US Department of Justice announced that the market's owner, Rui-Siang Lin, a 23-year-old Taiwanese national who operated under the alias "Pharaoh", had been arrested by federal agents at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. Lin had allegedly made a series of operational security failures, including using funds from the market's admin wallet to purchase internet domains registered in his own name.
Aftermath
On 16 December 2024, Lin pleaded guilty to operating one of the largest illegal narcotics marketplaces on the dark web. The Incognito investigation subsequently fed into Operation RapTor, the May 2025 international operation that resulted in 270 arrests of darknet vendors and buyers.
